What do volunteers do?
Assist with running a sport or recreation program (i.e., help lead volunteer/instructor)
Act as an assistant to the participant when needed (e.g., picking up balls, modifying equipment or even jumping in as partner/competitor!)
Assisting with set up and take down of equipment
What qualities are needed?
Enjoy being around others and open to new things!
Able to adapt (or willing to learn how!)
Ability to follow instructions but also take the lead from time to time, if comfortable.
No prior experience is needed with adapted sport!
How many hours per week?
Most of our programs run for 1 hour per week for 8 weeks. Life happens and volunteers sometimes have to miss but we ask that our volunteers try to pick a program that will work well with their schedule. At least 24 hour notice is appreciated if going to miss a program, if possible. Volunteers are a critical part of our success!
